Wes Edmonds, Ph.D., HCLD joins Fairfax EggBank from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility where he held the role of Laboratory Director of Clinical Embryology and Andrology, as well as Scientific Director of Assisted Reproductive Technologies. The breadth of these roles in a large academic institution allowed him to consider the fertility process in its entirety, including the embryology team, the clinicians, and the intended parents along their journey. Wes holds a bachelor’s degree from Troy State University and a doctorate in Developmental Cell Biology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
As Fairfax EggBank Scientific Director, Wes will provide oversight for the scientific team, and all aspects of our embryology program. His role will focus on ensuring continued optimal outcomes for our partner clinics and identifying areas for growth. He will have an integral role in maintaining the high standards for Fairfax EggBank quality assurance and quality control protocols. This will include continued collaboration with our clinic partners.
Wes was born in Alabama. He was a decathlete in college, and loves being outdoors. He is an avid record collector who lives in Alabama with his wife and two sons ages 9 and 5.

Amanjot Grewal joined Fairfax EggBank in 2017. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from University of Rochester, as well as a second master’s degree from Cornell University. She has developed a rapport with our IVF clinic partners, helping to ensure exceptional outcomes for recipients using our ooctyes. As Associate Scientific Director, Amanjot is a hands-on resource for new and existing IVF clinic partners. In her role, she also visits IVF clinics for lab collaborations for the Fairfax EggBank state-of-the-art warming protocol.
Melissa Iwaszko has held instrumental roles for 30 years in growing Fairfax EggBank parent company Genetics & IVF Institute in the United States and in China. Melissa holds a bachelors degree from the University of Delaware. She holds a Master of Science degree with Merit in Clinical Embryology from the University of Leeds. As Fairfax EggBank Laboratory Director, Melissa oversees the embryologists and lab personnel, develops policies and procedures, and ensures quality measures for Fairfax EggBank and our clinic partners are maintained at the highest levels.
Michael Geltinger began working with Fairfax EggBank sibling company Fairfax Cryobank and parent company Genetics & IVF Institute in 1994. Michael is a skilled embryologist with more than 25 years of experience. He holds a degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and is a certified Technical Supervisor. As Assistant Laboratory Director, Michael oversees the daily operations of the Fairfax EggBank embryology lab and manages the shipping and receiving process for all Fairfax EggBank oocytes.
